Hash Browns With a Kick

5 large potatoes
1 large onion
1 tsp. of salt
1 tsp. cayenne pepper and 2 small green chilies
5 Tbsp. of canola oil
2 Tbsp. of butter

Grate potatoes and onions, add salt and mix. Let stand for 10 min. Squeeze and drain out water. Add remaining ingredients and mix. In a large pan, add the oil. Scoop hash brown mix and form patties by hand and place in pan, and drop in some butter on the sides of the pan as patties start to cook. Cook on medium heat for 5-6 min until golden brown, and flip and repeat for other side.
